Thanks! It just takes practice, I made one for a friends birthday and totally underestimated the effect of the suns rays on the cake, the dang thing semi melted and sagged on her car ride home!

Larissa-Rasputin In reply to Rinnede94 [2012-02-16 02:53:21 +0000 UTC]

Actually not very long. Maybe 30 minutes total. Give or take depending on how long it takes the chocolate to set. Thanks!

hey this cake looks great how did you get the chocolate into the round shape?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Rasputin In reply to poppysteen [2011-01-26 18:59:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

I melted the chocolate and put it into a bag. I snipped off the tip and stringed it back and forth to create the design onto parchment paper. Then, wait until it cools slightly (will start to lose its shine a little) It needs to be stiff enough that it will stand on it's own but soft enough to bend. Then wrap it around the cake and wait for it to cool completely. Then peel off the paper and viola!

Pretty i love the tuxedo strawberries.. I saw those in a book before and always wanted to make them, they're adorable!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Rasputin In reply to surrealsweets [2010-02-18 14:28:10 +0000 UTC]

They're really easy. Just make sure to let the white part harden completely before dipping them again.

How amazing!!
How did you manage to fold the chocolate that way? It's so impressive.. I want it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Larissa-Rasputin In reply to maytel [2010-02-15 02:15:07 +0000 UTC]

I melted it and then piped it onto some parchment paper. When it was partially set but still bendable I stood it up and wrapped it around the cake. When the chocolate was fully set I peeled off the parchment paper.
