Mitchell-class Heavy Corvette
A type of small escort warship used by the Terran Federation Fleet during the Post Bugs War era, despite their designation, they are much larger than their C-Space counterparts due to the need for heavy duty transport capabilities.

Smaller than a Bugs War era Rodger Young with less payload, the Mitchell class however boasted more offensive capabilities with its main armaments consists of a pair of triple 20cm turrets (the same secondary armaments mounted on larger Federation capital ships) and four of those same guns in fixed ventral mount alongside a dozen hull-mounted micro missile tubes. This coupled with the addition of four quad-76mm turrets and four twin mount 120mm cannons further bolstering point defense capabilities. Compared to the smaller and more expensive Doolittle class, the Mitchell class was more balanced in terms of weapons at the price of inferior protection and payload.

The Mitchell class is often used in a battlefleet usually in the roles of escort ship, reconaissance and lastly troop transport. Due to its high mobility and atmospheric reentry and exit capability unassisted, the ship can also be used as a landing ship for planetary assault or as a supply ship for planetary garrisons. When used as fleet transports, most of the ship's offensive armaments would be removed to save space for more cargo capacity. In Alliance service, these ships were instead being categorized as Frigates rather than Heavy Corvettes.

As with the other class of Federation Corvettes which is named after military heroes of old Earth, the Mitchell-class is named after Billy Mitchell, an American General, founder of the USAF and an aviation pioneer.
