Trying some different control buttons. I don't like them that much. I prefer to use gradients myself.
(Some buttons were too small, so the press effect may look a bit odd. I could've fixed that by increasing the size, but I'm bored of this VS now.
)I've started playing around with a WinXP VirtualBox installation. I'm reshacking and trying new different ways of customizing. Hopefully I'll learn something from it so I can create something completely different. I have some ideas, but I feel so limited with just msstyles. (And I don't like having too many 3rd party applications installed.) :/

Hmmm you should try windowblinds it tech. doesnt use anymore resources than the standerd visual styles because it replaces the entire engine with windowblinds (stardock actually created windows xp and vista's theming engine.) and allows you to do a lot more with themes.

this is good, and like you said, the gradients would look better, all the colors make it a little hard for the text to be read

I have to say your work is always fantastic, specially for the average user like myself who just wants simple but well crafted things, and more importantly, hates Vista clones. At least you have your unique style, which is awesome. I'm using your styles only since like more than a month now.. Will try this one next.

it is nice except for the readability part of the task buttons, white on white I noticed that bothers me, the rest of it looks very good, nice and glassy and colorful. I hope there will be a gtk / metacity for this or even emerald...
If you want more customization with your xp box, get litestep and mess around with it for a while.
