Description Realised i'd done a previous painting of natalie portman so i changed the theme to black swan. Original picture was made in 2008 i think. All photoshop painted as usual, no photomanipulating, references used for natalie portman and blackswan makeup.

Good job on this - I think it's a neat idea to rework an earlier piece like this.

However, I think it would be better if there wasn't such a distinct contrast between the blackswan makeup and the rest of the portrait - it's really crisp in comparison with everything else, which is softer with a look that reminds me of an oil painting. Perhaps things could have been softened or blended just slightly on her face to make it look more...part of the picture.

Otherwise, though, this looks amazing!

and yay constructive criticism! that's a rare thing these days thanks very much, i might go over this work again to fix that. i think i didn't realise at the time of painting it that it was that dark, looking back at it it looks a bit bad!

I wouldn't say it looks bad, just a bit disjunct. But then again, most artists are their own worst critics, so...
