I think I’ve said this about another pair of bloomers, but these bloomers are the perfect length!

Normally I favour the ones that are just above the knee, but I don’t mind other lengths.

Oh, that’s what you call them. Yeah, pantalettes don’t look nice. When they go down to the ankles, they just look like trousers. I should clarify, I like everything EXCEPT pantalettes.

And yes, the leg holes are an important part of the bloomers. Just above the knee like I said is my preferred length.

First, she'd be slightly mortified at such a shameful display, then she'd laugh it off with a simple "It happens to the best of us."

She is only human (I suppose) after all.

True... And I'm sure she has a bountiful amount of bloomers & other items of lingerie that she enjoys indulging in during her private time.

Great to see a wardrobe malfunction picture set in Edwardian times! I do like the fact that the only colour comes from her windblown scarf, the flowers on her hat and her blushing cheeks and lips. Her "Oops" expression looks very reminiscent of Gil Elvgren as battles to push her skirt back down and coyly brings her legs together to protect her modesty.

"Children, avert your eyes this instant... Please!"

Extra points for bloomers!

You're welcome!
Given the prudish nature of that time in history, the embarrassment factor must be even worse in such situations. I do enjoy your period pin-up art.

She is strange to me in many ways. Mary thinks she is perfect and she is considered a nany and lady without flaws, but if one thinks she is perfect - that's pride and that's a sin. And many more things) but that's juxt my thoughts ^_^

LaTaupinette In reply to PrincessLollyPopStar [2012-12-19 11:41:18 +0000 UTC]

I understand.
I don't believe in sin but I understand people thinks pride it's a big default. For me, it can be a quality sometimes and for Mary Poppins, this little default makes her more human...

Most impressive! Mary makes an exquisite pin-up: proof that a woman doesn't have to wear next to nothing to be attractive to me!

Every item of clothing she wears (even those items that a proper English lady shouldn't reveal publicly) is done perfectly. Her face has the perfect "embarrassed pin-up" expression: wide eyes, parted lips, & a blush on her cheeks.

I will admit, her legs are perfectly feminine. Something about the combination of two-tone Victorian boots, black stockings, & knee-length white blooomers puts a smile on my face ! I had to look this way when I saw her skirt lifted by the wind: she has the appearance of an impromptu can-can dancer! Her expression could even say "Oh, dear me! This is most irregular! I am not supposed to perform my can-can dance until this evening!" (Chuckle)

Ah, if only I could see this in real life...I would love to actually hang this as a pin-up poster on my wall! I guess adding it to my favorites list will do. Still, excellent work, Madame! Gorgeous, Timeless, & Tantalizing!

Think nothing of it, my dear .

Is that so? Well, I feel privileged to have seen exactly what you wished to show here. This pin-up of Mary has so many elements that I love blended into 1 drawing: A classic pin-up pose & setting, an elegant, iconic lady, perfectly feminine attire, a charming expression, and the extra magic that is the can-can.

Each artistic element draws me in. The coup de grace was the allusion to the can-can, which has a very special place in my heart . A drawing of a can-can girl of this magnitude with this aesthetic just takes my breath away. I thank you for making my heart beat faster & putting a spring in my step!
