Wow! So I finally finished this after working on it for nearly 5 days. But it was a lot of fun to do, and really challenging also. ~auralis-stock is holding a contest, and this is my entry for it. I really hope you like it, because I'm very happy with it. I was trying to go for a Chinese fantasy type of thing.. something you don't see often around DA. The dress was especially difficult to do because I combined around 5 different pictures to create it.

man this photo simply came out amazing...holy crap...after a year of school god knows how tight your work is going to look
first the lighting in this is really good...how the levels in all the stocks are level all around..the background is amazing...that looks beyond clean..
and i think the purple of the flowers hanging and the color of her dress tie things together really nice..

Time well spent i'd say. YOu have managed to create a feeling of serenity represented not only in the beautiful backdrop but in teh pose and countenance of the beautiful lady int eh purple dress. The purple looks so vibrant, like you can reach out and touch it. In fact it fills you with the desire to do so because it looks so soft.

your masking is getting better, but can still use work. The edges around the bottom of the dress ar much too harsh, combined with the fact that it casts no shadow a problem presents itself. You have a definate source of light that is somewhat continuous in the piece, but light casts shadow...and this piece casts none. Her arms are blurry from the fuzzy brush you used...change the settings to roughly 60 hardness and that my help some. The same goes for the vines...the entire edge of them is fuzzy. You are progressing by leaps and bounds Hazel....it sounds weird, but I'm proud of you, you're making incredible progress. Keep going.

Okay, to start the dress looks like it's floating on the ground... I don't know if that's intentional or not. The neck seems a little thin along with the arm, but that comes from combining multiple photos, not everything is going to line up exactly as you may want. In the middle bottom on the dress three or four folds are cut off rather obviously, I would've liked to see those smoothed out a little more. On the good side, I like the feel this has to it as well as good depth back into the image. Your colors are also well coordinated, good work overall.
