So is this and your other work rendered out in graphite then erased as you layer in the color? These look like they would take ages to complete.
Also what kind of paper or illustration board are you using?

ha! mmm, kinda. it is a very tedious and long process a lot of the time... some pieces take years to complete, but not in actual hours of rendering. sometimes it just takes a long while for a thought/vision to solidify for me. almost all of my pieces start as a detailed/shaded graphite drawing. sometimes i leave them like that... but the with the color pieces i add layers of colored pencil over the existing graphite layout. i don't really erase the pencil, just build on top. often i ink the graphite lines in the finished product. lately i've been expanding into more mixed media on paper. i usually use some sort of heavy vellum paper for all of my pieces. i should really start working on illustration board more.

mintall. i have recently got that house in a work too, in a few, the house of dreamagic and innocent participants involved in a churning vibration. also i would like to add reminds me of an entheogenic bob ross landscape. pulsating away merrily until the next tuna fish is put back in the sea

Haha! great description. I love Bob Ross. I've actually done a lot of work on this since. Hopefully scanned and put up soon.

Love this -- inspires me -- would like eventually to produce something similar through photo-montage.

I actually like the effect of having some areas of the image without colour. This creates an interesting contrast across areas of the image and leads the eye...
