Wahoo Avatar! This was fun (and took forever! My pieces with actual backgrounds tend to do that ^_^ ). A cute little Zutara piece of Zuko and Katara splashing in the waves. Careful, Zuzu. Waterbenders always win splash wars.Done on Photoshop.
I used 's tutorial on how to make waves. [link] I think they came out pretty well.

A problem I see here is the depth perception. The knees suggest that the water is deep but position of the wave on the shore makes it look like the sand under the water go up to their shins.

You're right. This piece was the first I did with characters in water, and I learned a lot from it. In fact if you look closely, there's no clear vanishing point either! I've learned a lot since I posted this piece, but it's always helpful to get criticism. Thanks very much.

Actually, in natural landscapes like oceans, you don't need to use the vanishing point too much. All you really need is the horizon. You can still fix this if you enlarge the canvas and push the wave closer to the viewer.

I personally like Kataang or Zoph pairing. (Zuko + Toph = Zoph)

Really? I haven't heard of Zoph. I'm still new to the fandom, so I don't know as much as some other fans. But really, I think just about any pairing can work if you have enough imagination. Thanks for the comment.

also if you want to could you draw little Zuko and Azula on Ember island with there parents Ozai and Ursa playing on Ember island.
