Description
A drawing of L from Death Note, this time in a more realistic style. This was a real departure from my usual style, so it was a real learning process for me.Since coming to Japan, I really haven't had as much time to draw as I used to, but after seeing the new Death Note movie L: Change the World, I was inspired. I think L bears a closer resemblance to Matsuyama Kenichi than any of my past drawings.
Comments very much appreciated, as always ^_^ I'm always a little unsure when I deviate from what I'm used to drawing. Please let me know if you like it!

I love the skin - the lighting and shadows are excellent! Personally, I can't do skintones at all
Nice folds on the shirt too. Also, I agree - he definitely looks very much like Matsuyama-sama in this one!

I've been totaly enthusiastic about your coloration. How did you do it, digital (which program), traditional (which colors)??? I'm so curious

I used Photoshop CS. First I sketched the picture in pencil and then scanned it into Photoshop, cleaned up the line art a bit and coloured it using a lot of layers with a wacom tablet. It was a long process, but fun
