Genuine friendship, here. Orrrrr... is it really? Who's the one who wants to be forgiven here? Up to your interpretation ; PGift art for a friend. This took WAAAAAY WAAAY too long. I've been working on this for a few hours every single day for a week. No joke. Ever since I got my tablet back, this is the first thing I worked on. Photoshop CS2 HATES this piece, by the way. Just today, crashed 9 times trying to do the fire. And in all the other days, the fire was just a dead-zone... if I even attempted it, Photoshop would eat me. Alive. I had to save literally every 2 minutes when working on the background. You'd think it was simple enough, but the particular brush settings I was using were making it constantly gurgle with pinwheels of death. Needless to say, though the piece was made with lots of love... I'm SO glad to be done with it rofl.
The chidori is purposely small and distorted... I didn't really know how to capture a 'hesitant' chidori, so I opted to do one that's small, malformed, and not yet a threat. Sasuke's meant to be internally debating it. And Naruto well.... he's always been blinded by his feelings, hasn't he? : P

This really pulls on my heart strings. I hope we get something like this is canon. I don't think Sasuke truly understands just how much Naruto really cares about him, seeing as he's asked him twice why he goes so far for him, and still doesn't seem to get that he loves him would do anything for Sasuke.

I say Naruto wants (or thinks) Sasuke wants forgiveness for certian reasons. and since sasuke's hesitent that must mean that he either feels bad about something and wants to 'forgive and forget' or that he can descide to either go on with killing him or hugg him. lke youaid, hes debteing.

The way I see it there could be two reasons the chidori looks like that:
1) Naruto hugged Sasuke and Sasuke is letting the chidori die down because he realizes what an ass he's been (or he doesn't want to kill the one person willing to forgive him at the moment)
2) Naruto hugged Sasuke and Sasuke is going to kill him because he's still being his emo "I wanna avenge myself on *insert Itachi's name or the elders' names here*! RAWR!" self and Naruto's getting in the way
Either way, it's an epic picture that I'm glad you finished because it's absolutely amazing

how did u do the fire effect in the background

just using the regular brush in Photoshop, and bright colors. To achieve a lit fire look, you need a dark foreground, and high contrast backlighting on the character. It's all about lighting to achieve fire. My fire is really weak, but at least people know what it is, I tink XD

Seriously, this piece... struck a chord somewhere inside me... of course, it was assisted with the fact that "Say Goodbye" from the .hack//SIGN soundtrack started playing on Shuffle on my i-pod when I opened the picture...

Seriously, though, amazing piece. The colors, the layout, the pose - it's very emotional. It fot together like pieces of a puzzle. Only one other picture has ever choked me up like that.

Aww.... That's so cute. Poor Naruto who tries real hard to bring Sasuke back, but the Bastard only wants to chidorize him. Or does he really? (^_~)
I really like the contrast of colors: the orange/yellow of the the fire and the white/blue of the Chidori. Nice. (^_^) And Naruto's expression is well done, it captures well his emotions. Great work!

This is very nice. I like how Sasuke has a small chidori behind his back. I would think Naruto could hear it, but it's small and there is a large fire in the background, so he may not hear it over the flames. Or maybe he does hear it, but he's going to let Sasuke do whatever he wants. Thier friendship is so tragic.
