love the pebble concept in these, too. the shape works well with the dot motif; i like how the dots in this one are like the edges of spiral notebook paper.

The dot thing is really interesting in places. I am experimenting with the dynamics they generate. Hope to do more.

it's a really great motif. simple, but with a wide range of uses, as this piece displays.

Thank you! I'm watching these very birds (minus the oriole), against the snow. It's a silver morning here, no red in sight!

This has to be my favorite one so far! I love it when only primary colors are used in a piece. It's such a bright and energetic effect. Also, cardinals are one of my favorite birds. Nice composition here.

Durn, that icon is so cool.
Mm, we're lucky to have a lot of finches around this area. My sister goes birding with an outdoors group, and actually gets to hold the cute little things. Gently, of course. :]

I've read that one can tempt certain birds to eat out of hand (chickadees, e.g.) but have never tried it. Not patient enough!

WeirdAlbatross In reply to LauraTringaliHolmes [2009-12-05 22:37:52 +0000 UTC]

It does work! But it takes a lot of practice. Woodland birds especially do not trust humans in the least.

I am always amazed at the vivid contrast of cardinals, when I see them in my daughters yard...she lives in RI, we don't have cardinals here in So California...God made a beautiful bird when she made the cardinal!

Okay, color me impressed. The only ones I "recognize" are the ones we just get one of - a single downy woodpecker for example.

Our downy breeding pair are Wink (M) and Dink (F) and the babies were gorgeous. Now they are juvies and still in the area...don't know them well enough to name them.
