A surreal classic, very reminiscent of Dali and his melting clocks ;] Somehow every element in here makes sense, even though I couldn't say which one. Something about the composition makes me wanna paint this in acrylics or oil (and I've never worked with those media before!).

The lecture of the composition is great. That clock really attracted my attention, it reminds me DalΓ. I know that in your line of work you usually use these almost absence of color, but I felt strange when I saw the peacock feather without colors, I don't know why, it was just shocking

some things disconcert when transferred to black and white. I recognize this and I do use it.

I love to play with the colors in my works, I never thought about it before, it's interesting

You know, the fun about these closet-shootings is that your work becomes almost two-dimensional, more like the composition of a painting than a still-live. It's an interesting experiment you have going here and I enjoy watching it

lauren-rabbit In reply to Talescaper [2007-08-27 20:02:37 +0000 UTC]

Everything is 2 dimenional to me. I have this funky eye disease and I cannot see in three dimensions, everything is flat. 3-D has been described to me, but to me the whole world will always be a photograph.

Talescaper In reply to lauren-rabbit [2007-08-28 10:25:10 +0000 UTC]

I see. It's funny, because I've always thought many of your photos show a lot of depth and make more use of the three-dimensional space than most still-lives.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lauren-rabbit In reply to Talescaper [2007-08-28 12:36:02 +0000 UTC]

maybe because I'm not aware of it. In my experience things tend to go easier if you don't overthinkit.

LesSabots In reply to lauren-rabbit [2007-08-27 22:52:31 +0000 UTC]

...so do you in fact want us to look at, or inside the photograph, if it is meant to be a two dimensional presence (I too love the clock )...
