A creepiness that I can't put into words.
Your style lends itself so well to this concept, since each print has its own character, making them unique and not just mirror images. Like a meeting of two women disconnected except for sharing their first name. Did you mirror it by pressing two photo papers against each other while developing?

Actually took a much simpler route, I tore one sheet of paper in half and made two separate prints one of which the negative was flipped to reverse it.
I prefer to piece together separate prints as it gives you more options.

Yea, flipping the negative is so much simpler. But the reversed one has a strange texture so I wondered.

The print does but after a negative is fixed and washed it dries and hardens and you really don't want them wet after that. They should always be used dry. I usually pull one contact print with a wet negative pressed onto dry paper, which is where the pattern comes from. It's a little risky because a wet emulsion can easily scratch so you're not supposed to do it.
I tend to only make one because once my negs are dry I don't resoak them. Also you run the risk of getting gimmicky when you play with patterns and tricks like that, which is the reason I use them so seldom.

Ah, the negative was wet! You have a large format camera, which means you can make contact prints and don't need this projector thingie to make prints, right?

right. for the past five years that has pretty much been the only thing I have shot. I was considering making my next project 35mm just to make sure I don't get stuck in a rut but I really prefer large format.

Intriguing comparisions...
Reminds me of 'spot the difference' but clearly more sophisticated.

'spot the difference'
That's a great idea for a series of diptychs! You should run with that.
Seriously.
I wish I had thought of it.

I'm sure you'd get more out of the idea than I would.
Feel free to use it!
