Description "Oh-oh, close your weary eyes
I promise you that soon the autumn comes
To darken fading summer skies
Breathe, breathe, breathe"

(Rises the Moon, Liana Flores)

The cold air burned Pellinore's lungs as they bolted through the white fluff on the ground. They'd never seen snow before! Plus, with how close they were getting to the main camp, Pellie figured it was fine to run the last leg of the trip. She'd missed Shadow, missed racing around early in the morning before everyone else was really awake, the sky at night with the warmth from the forge behind her.

The forge. They could practically smell the ash from the warm fire in the blacksmith area. Could feel the heat creeping along and stretching through heavy limbs and fighting off the chill from a wayward breeze. Pellie could hear the sigh from their mentor as they gazed out at the rest of camp. Her mentor...

Callisto would be asleep by the time Pellinore burst through the trees and into Shadow. Surely. The pampas would probably see her in the morning after letting their leader know she'd returned.

Well, that was the plan before Pellie actually scittered into camp.

They'd meant to go see if Tacitus was awake, and if not, sleep in the forge for the night. Pellinore didn't mean to stop moving as a figure lumbered, shadow cast by the flickering fire in the blacksmith's area. A large cat with a torn ear and fluffy black tail. With green eyes that seemed to glow when the light of embers caught them.

Pellinore couldn't help but blink once, twice, then a few times more as it finally registered who it was. Callisto. It shouldn't have been a surprise really. The blacksmith was dedicated and probably just working late. But she didn't look like she was doing much just- staring. Head tilted towards the flames that shifted like waves, to their own tide, growing and shrinking back again and again.

The pampas let her eyes flick up to the stars. Yellow and teal searched the lights that seemed to blink down at her.

What are you waiting for? they twinkled, We brought you home, we kept her safe for you. Do not take our gift for granted, little one, go on.

Pellie didn't wait another second.

She was home.
