(For some reason, this got moved into anthro, and I have tried repeatedly to move it into fantasy. Now I laff, and laff and laff and laff.)I forget why I drew this, since it was a while ago, but I remember what it's all about, kinda.
She doesn't have a name, but basically, she is some kind of... dream protector? Uh, well, protecting the real world from dream stuff, anyway.
That way I had it planned out was there there was the real world, and the sky is a barrier between the real world and the dream world called The Weave. There are agents on the real side (who also control day dreams) called DayWalkers, and they are agents on the dream side, NightWalkers (girl above).
The NightWalkers control the three layers of the dream world:
The Weave, the net that keeps dream residents separate from the real world.
Surreality, a perfect replica of the real world, where the NightWalkers live. However, it is in a constant state of flux, as the dreams of humans effect what their world looks like.
Chaos. When humans create something terrible in their dreams, it is locked away in chaos, the layer furthest from the real world. Occasionally, these terrible creations break free and rampage through the real world. Which is why dream protectors are needed.

Of course, my own personal hankering for one is probably what's dictating that, but.... The freedom you gave yourself with the design and the concept layered alongside it just make me chew and chew on this image's longlasting flavor.

A combo of photoshop and painter. Photoshop for the sketch and lines and touchups, and painter for the colours.

if it helps, I just use the pencil tool for colour, and the Just Add Water blender.
