I am absurdly proud of this coloring job. >_>

I was actually having a hellish time with it, and then I decided to start over (oy vey!) and try cel-shading for the first time. And OH MY GOD, it made my life SOOO much easier! Shading is all of a sudden not torture! And yeah, it looks quite different from my old style of shading, but I think I'm going to use it for awhile, because seriously, it takes a fraction of the time I spent blending and all that crap.

Sooo...these are two of the main characters of a project tentatively called "Steam Flash." The girl's name is Iris Cavanaugh and the dude is Finn McGillivray. Iris is a witch and a thief and Finn is...well, honestly, I'm not sure. He's gone from being a thief to a cop to a dragon trainer to...I have no idea. His story is still working itself out in my mind.

Both of them are "rail riders," who get from place to place by hopping on steam engines illegally. I based this on the teen hobos who rode the rails during the Great Depression, who have always fascinated me. *history nerd* Iris and Finn meet as a result of this shared, er..."hobby," and they also have a third member of their little gang whose name is Rory Jones. He will be making an appearance in my gallery sometime soon.

These two are original characters that I have spent a lot of time developing, so I'd appreciate if you didn't steal them.
