Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Between the Light and Dark

Rated-M for language and later chapter stuff

Summary: Koto was a normal teenage girl with love troubles, until one day she wakes up in the middle of a forest as a Pokemon! Why has this happened to her? Why has she forgotten everything? And will she be able to adjust to life as a Pokemon?

Chapter 1: Oh My God!

"Hello? Hello?" Comes from an unknown voice.

"Hmmm…..I wonder who's there? Dad?" Comes my own voice.

"Hey…. Wake up!" The stranger shouts.

I open my eyes up to see who's there, and what I see is….

"Hey! Are you okay miss?" I look up to see where that voice was coming from and I look to find the only thing around is an…

"Oshawott?! Oh my god?! Are you a talking Oshawott?!" I went to stand up but for some reason this Oshawott was enormous compared to me, and standing up wasn't making me any taller.

"Huh?! What's wrong!? Why are you freaking out Zorua?"  This Oshawott is really talking, maybe I'm going crazy…

"You're a talking Osha- Wait !!!What did you call me?!!" Now I'm freaking out why would this thing call me Zorua unless? I look down to my small body, and my hands are now paws, and their blue. I've become a Zorua?!!!! WHAT THE HELL"S GOING ON HERE??!!! (AN: She's a Shiny Zorua which in this story is white with a black collar area and blue accents)

The awakened Zorua was now freaking out, some how the girl transformed from a teenage girl to a bite sized Pokemon. The Oshawott that had happened upon the girl and had come to see if she was alright was now worried to his natural Oshawott curiosity came over him.

"Hey, Hey, calm down miss, what's wrong?!" The Oshawott asked politely.

"I'm A Fricken Pokemon!!" Came the freaked out response. Oshawott's sarcasm just had to ask.

"As opposed to being what? A human? Ha-ha!" He had to laugh no one had ever heard of a human becoming a pokemon.

"YES!!! I'm SUPPOSED TO BE A HUMAN GIRL!!!! Not a ZORUA!" She shouted in a crazed rage she was breathing erratically and she was about to pass out. Oshawott was getting worried now, she has to be telling the truth but she was now starting to sound crazy.

"Well… that's weird… hey what's your name then? I'm sure you have a pretty name miss… please tell me." The Oshawott decided that using his natural charm would help in calming her down before she passed out.

"wha-? What my name? My name is…Koto…I think that's right…" Koto said softly trying to calm down. "…Do you have a name? Little Oshawott?" She asked trying to still calm down.

"DON'T CALL ME LITTLE!" Oshawott hate that above all things, just because he's under 2 feet tall doesn't mean everyone needs to refer to him as 'Little Oshawott'.

"Well then tell me your name and I won't call you that…Shorty…." Koto teased, she was finally calm but by nature she knew that she was feisty, that being some of the few these she knew about herself.

" My name is Yuu if you must know, so don't call me Shorty!" Yuu demanded. His expression was one of great anger until a strange thought suddenly hit him.

"Yuu huh? What a strange name for an Oshawott… ha-ha-ha…" Koto mused she looked over the Oshawott and began to suddenly have new random thoughts enter her mind. "Oh No! What am I to do now? I suddenly don't have any concept of who I am, or where I came from? Let alone to I have a place to stay… oh no… what should I do?" Her fears began to flood her mind until she heard Yuu speak up and what he asked was almost like he read her mind.

"Hey do you have a place to stay?…or do you remember anything else about yourself?" He asked he really wanted to ask her something else but this was a good start.

"Umm well Yuu I really don't know what I should do… I don't remember anything about me… like my home… or my family or friends… Wait do you know somewhere I could stay?!" Koto asked getting excited, she felt her tail wagging in an adorable way, only now did she notice she wasn't quite the right Zorua colors which as far as she remembered where black and red. "Huh? Do I look different from other Zorua?" She asked Yuu.

"Yeah you look different It's what we Pokemon call the Mystic version of a Pokemon,.  It's no big deal really, but more importantly Yes I do know somewhere you could stay but staying there is a free deal though…" Yuu said while drooping his head down on a sigh.

"What do I need to pay money or something to live there?" Koto asked curiously while her head tilted. She now noticed her cute new ears which she poked with her short little paws. God I must be cute to look at…he he.

Yuu then sat down and began to explain the conditions to living at this place he knew of.

"Well you don't need to pay to live there but you do need to bring in money and help out with the work. See the place I'm suggesting you stay at is called the 'Arcanine and Stoutland Guild' and it's a place where teams of pokemon work as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers. Those are Pokemon whose job it is, is to go on missions to both explore new places called mystery dungeons… and to help out any pokemon who are lost or hurt within these dungeons. Basically they help keep order in our world, since many natural disasters have been causing pokemon trouble, The Arcanine and Stoutland guild have decided to recruit and train new members to help out with these problems…" Yuu took a quick breather before finishing up his train of thought.
"So Basically you could live there but only if you agreed to help out and team up with another Pokemon to save Pokemon… and you wouldn't have to pay a Poke'…"  He finished leaving Koto to come to her own conclusions.

"…so if I'm understanding this right I could live at this Guild so long as I help out and save pokemon, with a partner?" Koto summed up Yuu's suggestion quickly.

"Yep!" He piped up.

"… Well that doesn't seem to bad, it's just… I don't know anyone who would do that… unless…Yuu would you like to join me as a team of Pokemon Explorers/Rescuers?" Koto put on her most adorable face while she begged Yuu to be her partner.

Yuu of coarse put on his most adorable smile and happy said. "Of Coarse I will! I was hoping you'd ask me to join you. Lets go there together, Partner!" Yuu jumped up onto his feet placing his stubby little paw on his scalchop proudly as he cried out, "Lets Go Koto!!! To Arcanine and Stoutlands Guild!"

Koto got up and began to stretch herself out a bit before trying to walk on all fours. "Huh… So this what it's like to walk on all fours huh… Um Yuu do you think you could stay close and help me get there… Ha-ha" Koto finished with a nervous laugh. She was too wobbly to be walking alone.

Yuu happily walked over to her and put his paw on her back to make sure she wouldn't topple over. "Of coarse I can! Hee hee I don't mind at all…by the way just ask if you need anything as your partner I'll always have your back!" Yuu said with a smile,  Koto was oddly very happy but she couldn't quite put her finger on as to why.

"Thanks I will Yuu and I'll be the first one to thank you now for being so kind to me…" Koto flashed a cute grin towards Yuu, which made him blush and think to himself…God she's cute!

"…So where are we now? And where do we need to go to get to the guild?" Koto asked Yuu.

"Well we are in the Lostlorn Woods and we need to get to Soul City, which is just north of where we are.  From there we head east from the market place and then we will get to Guild. So before you ask… it's not that far, and by the time we get there, which is like a hour's walk; you will be able to walk well by then." Yuu said with his smile still strong.

"Ha-ha okay Yuu thanks for telling me!… so why do you want to become a Pokemon explorer Yuu?" Koto asked while she was still trying to figure out how to get her tail to stop wagging.

"Well I want to train and battle so that some day I will become a great and strong explorer like my father Samurott." Yuu answered simply, like it was common knowledge.

"Ohh…"

The two some walked, and talked all the way from the Lostlorn woods through Soul City's market place, until about an hour later, the two stood before the entrance of the famed Arcanine and Stoutland Guild. They two stood before the place with their own hopes and dreams and they began have some doubts, but the two looked at each other and they were reassured so they both walked forward as towards the Giant palace like entrance to their new lives as Pokemon Explorers.
