Now this is a set I am very happy and lucky to have gotten.

Quick story: I went to the Lego Store at the mall I frequent every so often. I had saved up some cash to get this as it is worth around 300 dollars. When I was about to pay full price however, I decided to use some of my Lego VIP points that I saved up. I had managed to save enough points to just get this for FREE! But I decided to only use half my point to get a very reduced price on it.

Overall, this is a set I wanted when it was first announced. Bowser himself is very well built, and solid. He has a fair amount of weight to him, so I would recommend always picking him up with two hands. The arms are fully posable, complete with an elbow joint that has a clever use of bricks to not leave a noticeable gap between bicep and forearm. There are two levers that move the head for different reasons. One is simply a hidden push level that makes the head move side to side, which is hidden well enough when the head is straight. the other is one that makes his head raise up and could trigger a spring fire missile to mimic his fire ball attack. They didn't have to include it, but they did.

The stand also has its fair share of hidden features. Knocking over the tower on the left reveals a POW power block. While in the front there is a slide out panel with a title for the Lego Mario course sets.

The only complaint is the size of this guy. He is fairly large, as is the stand you can display him with or without. Taking up a good amount of shelf space. Which makes sense as this is more of a display set and labeled as an 18+ set for adult collectors.
