Description At the Natural History Museum in London they put up a Butterfly House for the Summer so I paid it a visit. I was trying to capture the feeling of movement in my pictures while using a very shallow depth of field so it may or may not have worked very well. I think I like what I have done but this is outside my usual kind of photography so it is quite experimental for me.Β

This one is my favourite of your butterfly series! I love the golden colour of the swallowtail and how you captured the movement!

Great shot LawrenceΒ Β
I particulary love the opposition between the flower's color and butterfly's. (Or is it a moth?)
Can't wait to see more of these from youΒ Β

Thank you Lorian I don't know if it is a butterfly or a moth. It was in the butterfly house but that doesn't prove anything.Β
I hope you like the other pictures too

Lawrence, the only reason I don't comment every single picture you take is that I'd end writing always the same words, like great, fantastic, ad so on.Β Β
I love all of them thoughΒ Β

I hope you'd take mammoth's pictures too, thoughΒ Β

You did great, Lawrence.Β  It isn't easy to catch butterflies. I'm happy you had the opportunity to experience them.
I was shooting butterflies outside these past few days. My mint is in bloom and the moths and butterflies like it.

Faroes [2014-08-17 14:01:24 +0000 UTC]

It's wonderful!

The focus is on the body of the butterfly,
which makes the wings seem a bit blurry like they're moving!

I also like the frame/border; it makes the photo rather stylish

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LawrenceCornellPhoto In reply to Faroes [2014-08-20 13:39:51 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Krisitina It was flapping its wings which is why they are blurry.Β
The trick was to get the still bits being still

Thanks, I liked the frame too
