Description Dunnottar Castle on the East Coast of Scotland near Stonehaven. The sun was just beginning to go down but I only got a couple of shots before the clouds rolled in and the light was gone. The remaining buildings are mainly 15th and 16th century.

I remember visiting there......I had just climbed Ben Nevis the day before and my legs were very sore. The guestbook had entries from the 30s and 40s

Dunnotar Castle, once spent a fabulous evening there watching a roduction of Hamlet where the castle was used as the entire set and the audience folowed the actors around from scene to scene...wonderfully powerful and incredibly atmospheric....one of my favourite historical sites ...great capture ☺

It's been used more than once for that, remember they used it asΒ the stand in for Elsinor in the film version with Mel Gibson and Glenn Close.
