Description I have picked up a birthday vibe going on from other people
It appears it may be the birthday of one and if I'm mistaken then this is just a Monday gift for him.
If I'm right then this is a birthday gift for Richard. He is someone I want to have a beer (or two) with. 
He has been watching me since almost the day I joined dA and has been such a huge source of encouragement and support
that I am proud to see the development in my own work which is down to my confidence which he has helped me to build. ( he probably doesn't even know that)
I knew I could wrestle that sentence to the ground
Thank you Richard for what you do for many people here including myself. You are a power for good. 
So.....if this is your birthday then I wish you all good things.   If it's not then this is just Fake News

yes it is infrared. I had my old D70s converted so it only takes infrared now.

Ahh thought so. I gave my D70s away a long time ago. Kinda wished I had it back for the infrared conversion appeal. But if need be I can shoot infrared film like I used. But no doubt that is much easier done with a digital camera.

Yes I did. Thanks for asking. I had a most peaceful and relaxing day even though it felt like 1000 degrees F outside. We had a good time at the beach and a barbecue later that evening to celebrate both Labor Day and my birthday. That's why I'm so lazy at heart...I was born on the day dedicated to everyone taking a day off from work

For most people it's a novelty thing. But there are some artists who work almost exclusively in infrared with excellent artistic results.

Yes. Simon Marsden for one. I have every book he ever published. Shot entirely on Nikkormat cameras with IR film.

This looks a lot like an IR shot. I love those because they flip the normal values you'd expect on their heads, like a super strong red filter. Great composition to, love how the stone cross and the slanted lines juxtapose the churches, like it's leading down in and then up out of the frame.
