Description An upturned boat at Lindisfarne with the castle in the background. Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island, is a tidal island off the coast of Northumberland in North East England. There is a road that joins the island to the mainland but you can only cross at low tide. The fishermen of Holy Island often use old boats as storage sheds by turning them upside down and blocking off the end and putting a door in it.Β
