"You don't have to be so damned harsh to her though!"

"I'm a blunt person, Val! I can't be any other way! You shouldn't be so damned mothering to her."

And if that diamond ring turns brass…
Sammy's gonna buy you a looking glass

"Would you two just stop it and find some sort've compromise?! Please? We're supposed to be getting along!"

And if that looking glass does break…

"Stop it both of you!" The smallest of the roommates was standing in the doorway, looking at the two fighting. She shook her head, no tears in her eyes though a hurt look. They were fighting over how to treat her? She didn't understand it. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to explain it "Just stop fighting, please… Especially over me…"

All three heads turned toward the door, Melissa and Valery both blinking, looking more shocked than Sammy who had let out a soft sigh, staying quiet but listening.

"I want to be treated like an adult…" Kiara's head was hung low as she spoke, natural red hair falling in front of her face as she spoke, a hand combing it gently behind her ear, "… But I don't want to be yelled at all the time for things I don't get."

Melissa winced at the words, looking to the ground, away from the door and more toward her bed.

"And I don't want a mother," Valery looked down now as well "And I doubt I need one."

Sammy remained quiet for a moment more before finally asking a question that finally came to mind. "Then tell us what you do want, Kiara. We'll help you out as much as we can." A soft smile crossed her face as she looked to the short girl who had walked in, putting her bag over the back of her chair, door cracked just a bit open.

Kiara blinked at the question, a small smile crossing her lips as she looked up to the three "… There's really only one thing besides respect I want and you're all already doing a good job at it…" She giggled a bit, the comment making both Valery and Melissa look up and blink. It took a moment more of soft giggles before there was a reply "All I really want are good, trustworthy friends."

That smile, so bright, so incredibly child-like in innocence caused the three other girls to smile as well, Sammy being the first to go to Kiara, wrapping her arms around her in a hug. Shortly after the other two joined her.

"Of course…" Kiara had commented as she hugged the group right back "I guess the fights kinda help us grow… Guess it kinda makes us a family, right…?"
