Description
As the first rounds began, there were people all over the stadium making their way down and from the mats in the center. Announcers gave out match results and the people stationed near several whiteboards were moving around name tags and writing down the results on the brackets they were on.

"Hmm, I wonder when it is my turn?" Amanda mumbled as she ruffled her son's hair affectionately
"Hmm, I wonder too Mother...I want to see you fight already" Abel stated as he looked up at her
"Hehehe, it will be a lovely sight don't you worry Abel" Aikihara remarked as she looked at the mother and son duo
"I hope it will be, I don't want Abel to be bored" Amanda replied
"I won't be bored Mother, I will be watching all of the fights so I can learn how to beat you!" Abel replied with starry eyes and a smile, causing his mother to chuckle as she kissed him on the forehead
"Do you wish to see your Mother win Abel?" Aikihara asked the young boy
"Mhmm! I do!" Abel replied with the same enthusiasm from earlier, causing his mother to have a wry smile on her face
"I will try Abel, I will try"

Aikihara then turned her gaze from the family next to her and saw George and Takeo come back from the changing room, with both of them wearing their respective dōgis and black belts, although Takeo was wearing one already which confused her but she did not bother to ask anything.

"Hmm, both of you. Excited to participate today?" She asked the as they sat on a row above her
"Sort of, I was invited here to see if there were any up and coming players we could recruit for our team...fighting you however was not supposed to be on the list" George answered her as he turned his gaze towards her
"Ah, well its like you to do that, and you are assuming we get to fight in the first place, I know it is mixed fighting but I believe there will be someone here to rob you of that chance of facing me" Aikihara replied to him with a smirk, causing George to look around the stadium in confusion
"I am excited big sis! This is my first time in a tournament like this and I am pretty stoked, I even wish to fight you when I get the chance!" Takeo replied with a much more upbeat attitude
"Well, that's good. You get to see how the pros handle themselves. It will be a hard fight Takeo I assure you, so keep your guard up and always be ready. Heck you might even fight George or Amanda here who may stop you dead in your tracks" She replied to her younger brother

"Calling Aikihara Matsume to Mat 1C, Calling Aikihara Matsume to Mat 1C" The announcers voice rang out from the speakers, causing the two men and the family to look at Aikihara

"Give em hell Big Sisi!" Takeo cheered
"Try not to kill them please!" George added
"Good luck Auntie Aiki!" Abel cheered
"I wish you good luck as always Aiki" Amanda added with a nod
"Thanks everyone, see you in a bit" Aikihara stated as she stood up, dusting off her black tank top, adjusting her pants and tightening her black belt before making her way down to the mats

On her way down, she could feel the gazes of the people in the stadium watching her, even the fighters on the mats had stopped their matches just to watch the former champion duke it out with someone else. And when she reached the mat, she saw her opponent was a young black man with an afro in a taekwondo dobok, it did not really surprise her as this tournament was open to all no matter their type of fighting style.

"Aikihara Matsume, stand here please" The female ref stated as she pointed at the red square on the mat, with Aikihara complying
"Hugo Torch, stand here please" The female ref stated as she looked at the young man, pointing at the blue square on the mat, with the young man complying

The two opponents looked at one another, with Hugo having a displeased expression while Aikihara was her signature unreadable one, Hugo let out a "Tsk" as he looked her up and down, apparently disgusted with the opponent he was facing right now.

"Damn man, they paired me up with a has-been? Not even worth my time, ah well, I am going to enjoy getting the bragging rights for beating your ass" He said with a dismissive gaze

Aikihara said nothing however, her expression simply unreadable as she took a deep breath and let out a sigh. Hugo noticed it and was about to say something until the ref's hand came in between them, prompting the two opponents to stand up straight.

"Alright, bow!" The ref stated, with the two combatants exchanging bows before entering their fighting stances
"Begin!" The ref shouted as she lifted her hand

Hugo lunged first, firing off a 45 and roundhouse kick combo with his left leg before firing off another 45 kick with his right and then launching a low kick with the same right leg. Aikihara blocked the left leg combo with ease before raising her right leg to block the right kick and then hopped over the low kick with astonishing speed, leaving Hugo surprised as his usual combo was nothing to her. He then let loose a double forward punch combo that Aikihara blocked with two knife-hand blocks and when he tried to fire off a sidekick, she just hopped back out of his reach.

"What's wrong huh? Can't go on the attack because your scared?" Hugo taunted as he lunged at her once again

He fired off a turning sidekick that Aikhara blocked with ease and before Hugo could comprehend it, there was a loud and satisfying "PWAAAP!" sound as Aikihara unleashed her first attack of the match with a small visible smile for only a moment, a devastating axe kick that struck her opponent's face dead on. Hugo's vision went dark before he stumbled back and crumpled to the floor, with blood coming out from his definitely broken nose. The ref rushed over to him to check on him but she backed away when Aikihara walked over and grabbed his unconscious body by the collar of his dobok and then tossed him over to a pair of paramedics who just arrived. She gave her fallen opponent a bow before she returned to the mat, and the referee declared her the winner. The stadium was silent as they witnessed the victory, but when Aikihara turned her gazes to them, they immediately went back to what they were doing and continuing the tournament

"And they sent children to fight me" Aikihara commented as she walked back to three speechless adults and a starry eyed kid
