Yes, there are different species of pygmy seahorses. This one is the 'biggest', with an average size, including the tail, of 2.5 cm (1")!

Were you out snorkeling or scuba diving?

Scuba diving. In few occasions I was without tank, like with the dolphins, or with the mantas: I didn't want to disturb or scare them.
But scuba diving is much better if you have to go deep or spend a lot of time looking for small critters.
Much more relaxing...

I've only ever gone snorkling. Never seen half of what you've seen. I would like to go back. I don't know what kind of fish we have in my area. I went snorkling when I lived in Florida. I just posted a news article last night about some sea turtles.
