Kii peninsula in Wakayama prefecture, the closest train station is Nachi Sta. you can get there from Nagoya or Osaka, from there you can take a taxi, bus or walk to Kumano Nachi Taisha (5 miles approx.) goo.gl/maps/GHmHjh6Eckw

Sure it worth, if you go, try to get there through Daimonzaka path, it is part of Kumano Kodo pilgrimage.
