Description
Well, this is my first attempt at uploading a comic on DeviantART, so here goes.This is a comic, made using Garry's Mod, set in an alternate Half-Life universe. Essentially, it's a "What if" story with the point of view of a familiar character in a drastically different situation.
This is only the first part of the comic. Stay tuned for more!

the best alternate-timeline HL comic i've seen. extremely well written, and careful attention was payed to the style of the HL universe, as far as character interaction, personality, and dialogue goes.

Yes, it is.
I have no idea who "poor Lambda-11" is, but let me tell you something: I first joined a Garry's Mod community on 2007, after lurking for about a year. I've been making comics since then, although many are either not publicly released or not finished. And while I understand the whole point of not having NPCs in screenshots, since the point is to show off skills, here it's a background character. So, yes, I didn't bother posing him, because what I wanted was a natural Combine soldier, and that was better achieved through the use of a NPC.
So, whatever you mean, it's not "all over again". I've done GMod for a few years, so I've seen most of the trends come and go. I don't really care anymore about the whole "never use NPCs, that's newb stuff". I'm not a n00b and I make my comics how I want to. If you like them - which you seemed to, since you favorited it -, great! If not, well, so sorry for wasting seconds of your life.

The Lambda-11 thing was referring to Alyx. I realize it would be easier as well as more efficient to put a Combine Soldier NPC there. Lambda-11, from BlazBlue, had her memory wiped, and was reprogrammed to do naught but what Professor Kokonoe told her to do.

Oops, nevermind. I thought you meant that the story of Alyx being mindwiped had already been done, but I just did my research and now I understand what you meant. Sorry.
Well, brainwashing stories are not the most original thing in the world, but, as far as I'm aware, I'm the first to do it in the Half-Life universe. And, as I'm hoping you'll see and agree, it can fit pretty well with the canon!

Well, it's the first time I've heard of that, though I realize the concept really is eerily similar. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
Then again, I expected this concept to have already been used sometime. My focus has always been on executing the story in my head well, instead of trying to come up with mindblowing twists (though you might find one or two down the road). As you'll see, it's very much set firmly in the facts from the continuity, only twisted.
