Awesome; wish I could make skin texture look half as real! Is this The Thing (which I love) by the way? Even if it's not, it's a beautifully horrific work!

Whenever I see this I think of Biollante from the Godzilla series. Seriously, there's a lot of similarities. (In particular the smaller heads and limbless look of it.)

Thanks for the comment.
i am actually re-working this one for my ZBrush practice and i realized the similarities with Biollante.
I did this painting back in 1997, but i didnt see the 'Vs Biollante' movie till 2003. (didnt have lots of access to movies back then)
Anyway, G v Biolante is one of my fave G movie in the Heisei series, even though G was fighting a mutated flowering plant (be upset if G got beaten by it, ive seen him beaten by 2 maggots!)
Biollante design became one of my fave monster looks after i saw it.
cheers.

In all fairness, Godzilla was the villain of those two movies, Biollante was essentially the hero (and also much much bigger than Godzilla), and the two Mothras were using their wits and constructive webbing against him rather than mindless brute force like he was. It wouldn't make sense for Godzilla to win.
Anyways, neat creature. Very horrific thing. I would freak out if I was stuck in a room with it.

Really good job on the wrinkly and slimey skin! The detail is impressive, and the way it's painted so "dirty" makes it even better. Obviously there's nothing to do about it now, but it would have been nice if the front of the top jaw wasn't all the way at the edge of the canvas.

thanks. i enjoy painting dirty, i find it hard to do clean ones.
this jpeg is actually a scan of a photocopy. the original painting didnt really fit in the older photocopiers and didnt know photoshop back then.
cheers.
