Description So I have this not-exactly-secret obsession with the first Yugioh series and a very obvious obsession with Sailor Moon. Somehow the two combined themselves into my dreams two nights ago and this happened.

The legend of the moon, as told by Shimon Muran:
In the ancient past, Nut (the night sky) came under siege from some otherworldly forces called the Dark Kingdom. To defend her and the world of the living, the gods created the Silver Moon and its guardians. They lived in a palace on the moon and protected Nut and the human world from outside forces, keeping both safe for all of eternity.

The guardians sometimes visited the living world, but they were easy to recognize, given their strong heka (magic) and the divine symbols on their foreheads. But that was the past. The guardians of the Moon were just a legend.

Or so they thought. One night, Pharaoh Atem was watching the skies, like he did so often, and a star fell from it, a princess in gold and white fell to the ground. Atem rushed to help her, with his guardian spirit (Bondage Mage the Magician of Black Chaos), to find she was alright and not hurt. She told him she fell from the moon searching for Endymion but got lost.

Shimon told Atem and the priests of the legend. Seto didn't believe that she was really from the Moon (he wanted to protect Atem, of course) but he knew she had an incredibly bright aura. Kareem found her soul immesurably pure, something only someone of divine lineage could have.

The Dark Kingdom attacked, seeking out the princess, and Atem defended Serenity with the help of his guardian spirit.

Yeah. This is pretty normal for me when it comes to dreams.

So there's a few roots with this story. Right as the Ancient Egyptian arc was coming out in the manga (I read each issue obsessively), I had created this story around all of the priests, their origins, how Atem became Pharaoh, and even what would happen if Aknadin hadn't corrupted Seto (because he's actually a pretty good guy). I thought of turning it into an AU fanfic (much like Noah's Bookman), but it was such a bastardization of the canon that I never wrote it.
