If he studies a person long enough, he is able to shape-shift into them (he can only speak the language said person speaks). Only Amani can understand him in his void form, as he talks a different void language from the rest of the group.
Once he shape-shifts into said person, he can speak and act as them with near-perfect precision. However, if you ask him if he is the real character, he will always say no. He knows Identity Theft is a thing.
The one thing he will never shift into is another Void Creature. It's basically an unspoken rule, but shifting into another Void Creature can cause tension or anger, and Aylin is a weak creature, so he would never attempt it.
