Description
Scientific name: Spheniscus humboldti
This is a species of penguin native to the pacific coasts of South America nesting mostly on rocky coasts around Chile and Peru. These are very social birds living in large colonies where to couple into manogamous pairs, these penguins will engage in courtship rituals which can last for up to 3 weeks before a nest is prepared. like most penguins humboldt penguins are pescivorous feeding on fish and crustaceans, which they will hunt by diving under water for long periods of time often moving quickly towards them with their torpedo shaped bodies.
