Before you get all pissy about why I Headcanon a Trans Male Tortie Scourge,

Feel free to yell at me on that post

ANYWAY

WARNING
VERY OPINIONATED THOUGHTS AHEAD
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

So, let's talk about this Angsty ball of Emoness.
I really like Scourge, I thought his back story were very interesting, and totally make the character out to be a villain.
But what I REALLY like, is that he had the option to not turn into a murder ball of fluff, but he did anyway.

He could very easily have decided to be nice to all the cats in the Twoleg place, but he didn't.
He could have stuck up for the weaker cats, and become a savior
But he didn't.

He became a ruler.
He created an empire, and he was the king.
He created rules, laws, and codes that must be followed.
Or there will be punishment.

One of my dislikes for Villians is the redemption arc, and making the Villian have a reason to be angry. (Revenge, sadness, loneliness etc.)
Now, you can say that Scourge was driven by Revenge.
He got it.
Does he begin his redemption arc?
Nope!
He stays the same.
Killing Tigerstar, and getting his revenge changed nothing in his mind. As far as he is concerned, he's not evil. He's not doing wrong. He is leading his empire, and leading it well. There are rules that need to be followed, and he will enforce them with grave punishments.

I like Scourge because he decided that he wanted to run things his way. He didn't need some revenge plot to drive his existence. He would do just fine after killing Tigerstar, had he lived.

That's why I think he's a great Villian.

Now, onto the surprise part.

I really do think he was added in suddenly. He appeared in one book, and died in that same book, (I believe)
He was an interesting character from the start.
The way the Erins wrote him. How they specified that he was small, yet had everyone obeying him. His voice being higher pitched, his unique collar, and paws.
Everything they described about him, wanted the reader to know more.
The fight was brutal. The end result of Scourge not believing in Starclan, therefore, not gaining 9 lives, is such a great way to tie in the code for the last book. It's a great ending, and while we don't get to see much of Scourge, I think he was written very well.
There was just enough of him for everyone to get the basic idea, but everyone was left wanting more.
We wanted to know more about him.
How he became how he did.
How he stuck dog teeth in his collar.

And so, the Erins released 'The Rise of Scourge' to answer our questions.

So I think, Scourge as a Surprise Villian is a good one.
He is vague enough to where we still root for the protagonist, but still feel empty when he dies, and need to know more about him.

Now, onto if he met Jake
His father.

From what I've seen, Jake gives literally 2 shits about the Warrior Code, how things should be done, following rules because that's just how it be.
He seems like the most innocent rule breaker I've ever seen.

He doesn't care for some of the codes because, he thinks they're stupid, and he'll say it.
He doesn't care for doing things they way they have been done for years, especially when there is a new way that's obviously better?

He's a very open minded, and creative cat.
He thinks outside the box, and gives each character a new perspective on a problem.

What if he spoke to Scourge?

I have no doubt, that is Jake was still alive when Scourge ran the Twoleg Place, that they met.
They had to.
Maybe when Scourge is patrolling, looking for new recruits, or talking with Kittypets.
If Jake was alive, and living there, they met.

I feel Scourge is a very Close Minded cat.
He be,Ives what he does, and dismisses what he doesn't.
He wouldn't pay any mind to what Jake had to say.

Scourge would feel not obligation to listen to his father, because, as far as he's concerned, he has no father. Only a mother.

Jake would try to turn Scourge off the path he is going down, because that's what a good cat does. But Scourge wouldn't care. He would keep doing what he wants, because he wants to.

I like to think that Jake is just an all around Friendly Cat, and even Scourge talks to him at times.
Maybe Jake is the only one who can get him to laugh. Sort of, Father-Son Bonding.
But Scourge still returns to rule the TwolegPlace with an iron fist, and Jake, returns to his soft love as a kittypet.

I don't believe anything Jake could say to Scourge that would make him change his mind, or his choices.
Not even as a kit.

Scourge is the way he is by choice, and not even Everyone's Dad Jake can change that.

This design rocks so hard, definitely more badass compared to the canon one.

Kind of a bummer Tiny aka Scourge never got the chance to have a good role model. Still, gotta give the kid his due, he used his wits to gain power then maintained it by any means necessary. Good? Not entirely, but it definitely makes him a force to be reckoned with, which kind of ticks me off that Firestar was able to defeat him so easily. :/

Thank you!!

I really love a villain with brain over brawn. But also one that isn't afraid of a fight as well. Cat was smart, street smart, and made it happen.

He’s so handsome!Β

Good points there! He was a cool antagonist for the clan cats, not Firestar (though Firestar was the one who killed him). The dynamic of using the code to the advantage is what saved the clans at the time.

I do agree that Jake would not be able to help him to walk a different path. Scourge was so set in his ways from the start.Β

Also, total coincidence that he and Tigerstar cross paths twice!

Thank you!!

I do think he was a really cool villian! And the added input of having the day saved thanks to belief in Starclan was really cool!

If anything, it would just give Scourge more ideas on how to make Bloodclan more powerful and Ruthless, since Jake likes to think outside the box, lol

Heck yeah! What are the odds of that happening??

:3

He was! I kinda wish Firestar would've killed Tigerstar the first time instead bur it was crazy when this tiny cat killed this massive mass of muscles.

It would lol!

Like, 1/1000. Crazy!

I wish too, but knowing Firestar, he probably wouldnt. He's too goody to kill Tigerstar. I think he would try to keep him alive, or banish him.
