Asher as a gorgon is always a fun idea.however it would be interesting if the snakes grew big enough to be very heavy on the gorgon, and as they are sentient I imagine they need to be fed as well. they might become so hungry as to eat the gorgon, who knows?

That’s how gorgon’s die. It prevents them also becoming too powerful. The snakes are great, I like how they’re all doing their own thing, though wouldn’t that make the gorgon a kind of host?

very true! couldn't let them get too out of hand- though I would say it's a gruesome way to go!

I guess in a way that most typical gorgons would not have sentient hair it would only react to their will, but in this case I expect they would be a sort of host in a way
