- Alfred is the personal vehicle of the Hatt Family, and was gifted to the first Fat Controller, Sir Bertram Hatt, shortly after he became the new Chairman of the North Western Railway.
- Alfred has served all four Fat Controllers over the years, and has developed quite a fondness for them over the years. They consist of, in order:
- Fat Controller I, Sir Bertram Hatt
- Fat Controller II, Sir Charles Hatt
- Fat Controller III, Sir Stephen Hatt
- Fat Controller IV, Lady Emily Hatt
- It should be noted that the Hatt Family has never actually driven Alfred, as their valets have usually handled it in their stead. Charles once drove him himself, and the experience proved to be rather... traumatic.
- Strangely enough, Bertram is who he considers the best drive among them, followed shortly by Emily.
