"What am I here for?! To continue losing? To keep failing...? To ruin and be ruined until there is nothing left...? Just how much can you take from a man? What happens when there is nothing left? For what reason do I continue to walk this cursed earth? For what reason do I draw breath each day? For the purpose of some abominable men? To be used as nothing more than a mere tool?! What about MY life?! What about MY heart?! What about my very being?! Am I less than everyone else, without so much as the smallest say in anything?! Am I fated to live this cursed existence, plagued by hatred, failure, and death everywhere I look?!

"...If there is anyone out there, truly...Please, answer me...or take back the tainted gift of life that was foolishly wasted on me. On this beast...this monster."

I've had this scene in my head for the last several days, featuring Ajax at his lowest point shortly after the murder of his closest (and only, really) friend. (Theoretically, anyway. I still haven't written it all out in detail) I wanted to experiment with more deeply-rendered backgrounds, and then changed course two or three times in the middle of it all in regards to wanting lines in some places but not in others, blurring the background, and trying to figure out if I wanted to have haze and rain or not. It was fun, though! I do miss making these kinds of heavier pieces, though not so much that I think I'll make a trend of it. Gotta have your peaks and valleys, right?
