Here are some concept sketches for my Lumpy Space Princess costume.The trouble with this outfit? She has no legs or discernible head! So basically, I wanted a more human-looking version. The idea is to make a lumpy, purple dress that imitates her basic silhouette. I'm planning on topping that with a matching purple wig, and purple face paint, so I don't lose the continuity of her amorphous, purple lumpiness. Also, opera-length spandex gloves that disappear under the sleeves. For the legs, I'm going to wear black-sequined leggings, to evoke... "space"? And some black or silver flats.
We'll see how it goes!

oh my glob DO IT. I've been wanting to see an LSP cosplay for awhile now. I'd love to also see a human peppermint butler 'cuz itd be the cutest thing ever. I totally agree with the comment that you shouldn't do the purple face paint tho. maybe you could do it more of like a tint of purple but not like all thick purple. The best would [link] the light lavender one.

This is omega cool. I think you might be better without purple face paint, I feel like it would be overkill. I thought about the same thing for Lady Rainicorn. Join me on our pale-ness.
Oh, on second thought. What if we did fancy eyeshadow and lipstick? Nice smokey purple eyes for you and purple lipstick. Hard Candy makeup sold at Walmart even sells purple mascara. I own the pink one and it works wonders as long as you put the white primer one on first.

Also, if I ditch the face paint, should I go with wrist-length gloves and leave my arms exposed (just to balance the skin tone of my face)?

What about elbow or just about elbow length gloves? You can do the same with your legs, sequence/glitter black stockings with garters just like with Monaco. That way, there is the same skin exposure proportion for all your limbs to equal out your face.

Yeah I was thinking I'd really drag-queen it up with LSP. Anyway, a huge part of the appeal is her gender-bending voice, so I thought, DRAG IT IS, THEN. And that effect would probably work better without purple paint.
