I want to do some working poodles, so thanks for this guide! I figured they had different names for things, and was hoping to find something as helpful as this. ;u;

From what I´ve read the silver is the greying gene that affects black and liver. It´s on the G locus, a dog with no greying has gg.

I've actually read contradicting reports about this. There's some debate as to whether the grey gene also the silver gene in poodles. According to the bellow website a study has from 1989 says that silver is actually a diluted grey of some sort. A second study from the late 60s has also separated the two, and there is evidence in poodles suggesting that they are separate. It's not 100 per cent proven, and I should probably add that as a disclaimer in the comments though. I choose to follow the bellow website's example with my silvers, as I find they state a good case.

Chocolat and isabella dogs are black base dilution, so they can't be kk but are KK or Kk
you could have added the dilution gene since you only have cream and apricot which are easily given by cece and cchcch respectively. (it would confuse people to mark them all red, knowing crossing a classic red and a dilute give a red carrying cream)
You could add to ticking that a dog can carry ticking and not express it if it doesn't have at least a sp gene (so white marking).
I saw a genetic study saying poodle have been tested to have black mask Em (even if it barely ever show since it would only be noticeable on sable, phantom or brindle dogs).

Yes, you're absolutely right! My mistake. By the time I got to the actual genetics part, I'd been writing this thing up for four hours and was rushing through it, so I'll fix that now and add the dilutes to apricot and cream. THAT's a good point about ticking that I completely forgot to consider, so I'll note that down as well! Yes, poodles do carry Em, which I mentioned in passing, but I guess I forgot to feature T-T Dear god this thing is a monster xD Thanks so much for going through all this and pointing out the mistakes! My intention was to never look at it again, so I never would have found out! lol!
