Tips? Well, at this moment im tryin' to use 100% of my imagination and to find my own style.
Usually, I look for art that would totally impress me with it's atmosphere or smth (smth like "Wooooaaaah, how did he/she do thaat??") and take some ideas, techniques from it.
So, it's important to understand what you want to draw and what you should do to get a satisfying result (anatomy, perspective, coloring etc.); and of course, you have to be able to notice your own mistakes while drawing/painting.

I love the dark atmosphere and emotion here.
I totally get what you mean about groups, especially the larger ones.
