Description Date: September 2007
Materials: Illustrator

Class assignment to create three letter forms based off a chapter book of the students choice. We were to illustrate the first letter of any three chapters in our book and there were no limitations on the what book we chose, as long as it had chapters.

I took a trip to Borders and ended up picking a children's chapter book called Crystal the Snow Fairy, which is one of the Rainbow Magic - The Weather Fairies series. XD The other students got a good chuckle from my (whopping) 67-page choice, but I had a craving to vector cute girls and silly goblins.

The letters from left to right are: A (The goblin who stole the weather feather), T (The kind Fairy Queen who wants her feather returned) and K (Crystal the little snow fairy).

I found it in a Barnes and Noble a few years ago (maybe around 2007?) but I'm sure you could find it pretty easily online somewhere like Amazon.

OMG! I READ THOSE BOOKS! I swear I've got almost all the Rainbow Magic Books there are! AND THERE ARE OVER 50 AND MORE BOOKS BEING MADE! I think the 7 books I still need the read are the Petal Fairies. the art has really gone a bit downhill since then..

I think you made an awesome choice, and the illustrations remind me (in a very fond way) of Disney's sleeping beauty as far as the somewhat vintage lineless fantasy look goes.

Middle figure is my favorite

I'm completely honored by that connection Out of the Disney movies, the style in Sleeping Beauty is one of my absolute favorites (closely followed by the facial characterizations in Tarzan, which I'm sure you can tell by my older work XD). So thank you- that comment totally made my night.

Nice job with these figures You differentiated between them nicely; the snow fairy looks younger and more of a playful sort, the fairy queen looks elegant and benevolent, and the goblin XDDD he's like >8[ Perfect.
