This is beautiful. This is heart warming and sad all wrapped in one. But it doesn't make you feel bad either. It makes you open doors to new ways of thinking. It makes you see every little thing much better then it truly was. This IS Beautiful.

{i wrote this for the fifth-grader who told me once my hair looked like ramen noodles.} - this really drew me in and helped maintain the fragile, originality of the piece. Beautiful piece, dear.

This is an amazing piece and a brilliant emotional portrait! A good poem is one that reveals itself equally to all five senses or nearly so, and this does so...I really love this piece. It's tender without being schmaltzy, firm without being brutal, and honest without resorting to the cheap shot. Really nice!

It felt as if I was reading a chapter of a book... Only it's a poem. God, this is amazing, you have quite the talent there! The metaphors are wonderful.
My favorite part: "she used to get blisters and bruises that bloomed from jumping off the playground slide
because she was the only one in second grade who still believed in flying
and it's beautiful,
even though it’s not supposed to be."

this is beautiful and I think you should stop editing it because the little imperfections fill this with that much more meaning and greatness because children and so amazing and perfect, and what makes them that way is all of their little quirks and flaws. I wish I could write something like this! congrats (: keep up the good work, because you definitely have talent !
