I swear, sometimes I get the weirdest ideas for my artwork, though I think this one is more cute than weird.Again, this started out as a random doodle that quickly evolved into something more extravagant. I think this all started from a weird dream I had one night. Most of it was kind of a blur but the only thing I could remember clearly was Mewtwo playing a guitar. After that dream I felt that it was necessary to draw it out. Think of this as a page from my dream journal but with more pictures than words.
Instead of a regular guitar, I gave Mewtwo a guitar fashioned out of his giant spoon. I also decided to have Mew join him in this little jam session too. I couldn't decide what musical instrument to give Mew, I think the idea for the harp came from the anime (I vaguely remember someone from the anime playing a Mew-shaped harp).
I really wanted this piece to be a nice and peaceful scene instead of the usual Mew/Mewtwo quarreling business. Oh, by the way, the Moon in the background came from a picture I took a while ago [link]

I like how the strings and structure of the guitar look like they are made of psychic energy, like he just decided to turn his spoon into a guitar just to jam with mew.

Wow, such a fantastic piece!! :3 I might go so far as to say it even deserves a DD. Much more creative and unique than like.... 95% of the Mewtwo arts around here, and I say that because I've seen nearly all of them.

I think in my dream Mewtwo was playing "Danny California" from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But instead of a spoon guitar it was just a regular electric guitar. Weird, I know.

I saw a giant spoon at a Pier One Imports store a few weeks ago, it was about 4 feet long and made out of some kind of metal. I think it was a wall decoration. That might of been the inspiration to make the spoon guitar.

This must have been a wonderful dream, I love how you dream them and the music. Mew looks like a little child enjoying a time with her 'mother' even though its quite the opposite. But I love the innocent child=like look Mew has and the peace in mewtwo's eyes.
