Brina doesn't remember her last name. At 11 years old the survivor camp her parents and her lived in, attempted to appease the infected by offering their children to be killed. During the attempted offering the infected went after the larger targets first, rather than the children. Brina escaped while her parents were being killed. She took shelter within an enclosed greenhouse that was filled with food producing plants. She remained there until Stacy and William took shelter inside the same greenhouse to avoid a group of the infected. Desperate for human company she quickly agreed to go with them to find someplace with people for her to live.

A conversation with Chris fills her in that many of the other children did survive as well. They had stuck together and were found by his community. It also supplied the information that her parent's camp was completely wiped out from the attack.
