Description
Messier 41 (AKA: M41, NGC 2287, and the Little Beehive Cluster) is an open cluster in the constellation Canis Major. In fact, the Little Beehive is just four degrees away from the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, and fits in the same binocular field of view. The cluster is composed of roughly a hundred stars, only about half of which are visible in this shot.
