Description
Starbound has finally got its long awaited update, and so has my interest in the game, so I decided to draw up my old Avali character, who will be exploring the cosmos once again…just as soon as RyuujinZERO gets the mod back up to speed, which (hopefully) won’t be long.

So, yeah, official update isn't gonna happen. I guess if you want the Avali to be part of your Starbound experience these days you’ll just have to settle for Avali Triage, an unofficial update to the mod that’s being maintained by a small group of dedicated fans, which can be found here:

What with Ryuujin apparently having lost interest in Starbound (and all reports indicate that he is unlikely to pick it up again), the official mod simply isn’t gonna be updated anytime in the foreseeable future. A bit of a shame, but you can’t squeeze quality work from disinterest, no more than you can blood from a stone.

Still, fans are keeping the mod alive, which is admittedly more than can be said for a couple of other popular mods I’ve encountered over the years that flat-lined completely after their creators abandoned them, without anyone even trying to put them on life support, so I’m grateful for what we’ve got.

To clarify, the Avali themselves aren’t dead, Ryuujin just doesn’t see Starbound as the best outlet for them anymore, so they may pop up in a different game somewhere down the road. Who knows?
