Love the attention to focus, the important areas of the face where you want attention to be drawn to are crisp and high in contrast. The effect you achieved really accentuates the triangular shape of your subject (Tom H) thus further trapping the eye in your most detailed areas. I would watch out for the tangent where his chin kisses the bottom of the image as it adds unnecessary tension to that area; adding an inch or so to the bottom would immediately fix that though. I love the subtly of the colors and attention to your values, please do keep up the good work!
