National Geographic Magazine ( June 1985 issue).
Reference Photo You may have noticed that my version of this Amazing photo looks a bit melancholy.
Last December was a rather sad month for me. It was good to pour the emotions onto paper.
This was my first attempt drawing this 4 years ago

It's not a reffenrence. It's blatant stealing of the photo. The fact that you changed the medium doesn't mean you are free to use other person idea.

As the national Geographic Best photographs stated, the girl was frightened more than being sad. Thus the look. But I like the wet eyes you managed to create on drawing her. I have tried to draw it myself but I should have insisted on 10 more sketches to give a precise look alike. You have achieved an impressive result on the complexion colors. Good work!

Nice job...saw the Docu about Steve McCurry who searched this girl again after so many years, while he made big cash with her portret,
she couldnt afford 25cents school money for her kid & now u have to ask permission to HIM instead of Sharbat...weird unfair world we live in

Although I see the amazing progress you've made, I'd say I prefer the old eyes and mouth, but after reading the description, I think is a nice interpretation, it's like the photo might have been done a minute ago.
