Out of pure curiosity, in order to get the white areas to become prominent in the picture (the shine) does copic have a white marker? That would be the only way I could see me ever coloring my work and going back to highlight...

No. You'd have to get an opaque white and go over it...sorta like acrylic paint or a white gel pen sorta deal.
