She's beautiful. I really like the style you have given her.

I just wish her original creators had put the effort in as you have, she would have had a happier reception.

Thank you! I wish so to, they had some good idea's but went in really bad direction. Though people went a bit to far with the hate (she's no where as bad as jared)

This seems to be the way with fandoms these days - everyone just wants to attack. I really can't afford the negativity in my life, so I stay in the periphery.
You know my theories about why people are so vicious to Bliss, although the poor girl has her faults. I just think there was so much that I could criticise in the reboot and she is not even close to being the worst.
I mean...twerking...*shudders*

Exactly, its just really pathetic and annoying. It's best just to avoid it all together.
Same, Bliss was just the tip of the iceberg. Like you sadi she had her faults but she defiantly not the worst part. I honestly blacked out the twerking episode, because it was a hot mess.

Yeah the internet is a blessing and a curse. It gives people this new sense of courage to harass others.
The original did have a ton of references but they were subtle and not a meme face. I can understand the cell phones and updated technology but everything else just rapidly aged the show.
I've sat threw the twerking episode and it was really bad,not even funny bad just bad. Yeah I honestly think Buttercup was the show writers favorite character because she had her dignity at least slightly. Blossom and Bubbles were almost thrown to the wolves

I had the 'pleasure' of encountering one such person about ten years back. An obnoxious little teenager who plagued the KH2 fandom, stole other people's art while accusing them of being the thieves, and harassed and abused anyone who challenged her. Thing is, she knew that she could act that way because she was never going to meet any of us in real life (she'd have got her head kicked in if she had). I have met a few people like her, but not as awful. I do hope she improved her behaviour as she grew up. I know she went on to try the same game on y!gallery, but someone proved she was under 18 and got her ip blocked.
The original gave the girls equal opportunity - even comparatively minor characters like Big Billy were sometimes offered the chance to have some spotlight. He probably wouldn't get the chance in the reboot in case he offended people.
Buttercup did have the best one-liners, even though they were out of character at times. The episode where she was conned by the Gangreen Gang over her traffic light hat...everyone was out of character! I did allow myself a little humor by applying my headcanons to the aftermath though.

Ugh I had people like that, why even steal peoples artwork? I hope she grew up to. I think the two worst encounters I've ever had was one person sent me a death threat (yeah it was stupid) because I disliked a shipping (prinack I think) and the other was that I was lesbanphobic because I preferred one girlxgirl pairing over another girlxgirl pairing (yes it was that stupid).
The original was ahead of it's time honestly. It gave us good characters, funny lines and cool fight scenes. Yeah they had to move aside the old villains for the new ones (which I wouldn't mind new villains if we didn't get one like Manboy) but after the pageant episode I lost interest in the show (they were so close but missed the mark)
Buttercup was a fun character (though Blossom is my favorite) but it felt like they really favored her? Idk it annoyed me she always got the spot light.
Thats what I did with the one episode I really liked in the reboot (the princess bluebell one).

You know, people say really stupid things - I hope one day they get to re-read what they have said and feel as ridiculous as they sounded! I can't say I have any feelings whatsoever towards the Prinack ship at all - I've enjoyed the odd piece, I suppose. I only vaguely know of Jack Spicer and I never really liked Princess, nor did I hate her. She had a good place in the show. I don't especially like Snubbles but I don't act like a sh*t-bean over it to people who do, or if people tell me they don't like SnAce.
As for the second...I'd like to know what they are drinking so I can tell their mother never to let them have it again. There is no universe where that makes sense. It puts paid to the argument that children shouldn't be allowed full internet access!
One of the things I never forgave was the removal of Sarah Bellum from the show. Sedusa, I could understand - she was one of the last of the edgy 90s villainesses - they were allowed to dress provocatively and be temptresses. Hexadecimal from Reboot was a great example - she got to keep her curves because she was technically a villainess. But they got rid of Ms. Bellum because she had a sexy figure?! If she'd been a bimbo, or had little impact on the show, I could forgive it, but she was a central supporting character. Sure, she was sexy and I expect more than a few teenage boys and a few older ones entertained some grubby thoughts about her, but she never played on it and her fanbase is full of women. All the sexualisation was aimed at her by men, and it was never viewed as positive. Ms. Bellum is - not was - an intelligent, capable, caring character who dealt with everything she put her hand to, who just happened to be attractive. Removing her only teaches young girls that attractive women can only be attractive. Change her outfit - a trouser-suit with a high-necked blouse - if her curves are that bad! I can think of several episode ideas where Ms. Bellum could have starred in a positive self-image role off the top of my head.
Man-Boy was ridiculous. I don't understand the character one bit. I'm beginning to wonder if Femme Fatale left the original show and joined the reboot's writing staff.
My thoughts were, as it is one year later, Snake will be 17. Snake is pregnant at 17 in my timeline - I just saw him going berserk when the Professor (who could do with shaking in this reboot) rides off on Ace's scooter and therefore Snake has to walk to the hospital for his Ultrasound scan

Right all ship hate is stupid, and it worse when you ship the same thing as the people attacking others (its a long story but this girl was (maybe has? I haven't paid attention) who shipped prinack and was just being super protective of Jack)
Exactly! There are tons of ship I dislike but whats the point in attacking others for it? Like an artist I really admire ships Sam and danny from danny phantom (not a bad ship just never clicked with me) but I still adore her next gen. I just don't get it. Yeah some kids need a parental lock XD.
Dude yes. Like Ms. Bellum was a feminist icon ahead of her time, but because she has a figure (something that another new villainous has as well?) she needs to leave?Or better yet being sexy means your evil? Not to mention how they got ride of Ms.Keane's chest because teachers can't have a female body? Honestly I've seen more sexy art of Professor Utonium than either woman ( it also taught me to keep the safe search on). I ca honestly see have the shows writers being inspired by Femme Fatale honestly.
That would be a lot better (though poor Snake) than half the reboot canon

Some people don't seem to handle things that put their precious headcanons or otps at risk. They will even get angry if the show canonically did the same. For example, if the show hinted that, for example, Mitchercup was canon, these kinds of fans who ship Buttercup and Mitch with other characters would have literal meltdowns and start creating anything and everything they could to attack the show. Fanart and fanfiction exist to create scenarios and storylines that you would want/would rather see in your chosen fandom(s) and share them. Human nature, I suppose, for some
I'd forgotten about Ms. Keane's mastectomy! If they'd given her a more rounded chest (for that sweet and motherly teacher stereotype) I could have settled with it more. But it feels like they wanted her to be clever, so therefore she couldn't have boobs? Granted, I think given the choice, Ms. Keane would have rubbed her own boobs out rather than give up her intelligence, but still - who up with the idea that women could only be sexy or positive influences? I have my theories, but they are just being nasty for nasty's sake.
Yep, a lot of the PPG fandom seems to have a daddykink...
Yeah, my thoughts too - Snake hen-pecking his hapless lover Ace while the others made a point of not getting involved. So them watching as Snake storms off to the hospital, Ace running behind him: "W-wait Baby, I got tricked!" "That'sss the pointsss!"

Yeah it's funny in a sad way. Like I get connecting with a character but dang calm down, you don't own any of these characters ( I've seen people put headcannons on someone else's oc just to spite them. Its a long story) I still feel bad for the newest voltron creators because that fan base is vile. (not all but a huge chunk)
It's just annoying that they can't just make AU's and fanfic's like the rest of us. Fandoms are fun if you ignore the B.S
It still drives me nuts whenever I try to watch clips of the reboot. Truthfully I really want to give the creators benefit of the doubt and say the executives who remembered a lot of the complaints of the original pressured them to 'fix it'. Which lead to a lot of bad decisions but I truthfully don't see how what they did was any better.
Which isn't bad I just don't want to see.
Poor Ace, the leader just can't catch a break XD

Every fandom has its toxic cesspits, unfortunately, though some are much worse than others. All it really takes is one bad egg or two and it can spoil the entire fandom's reputation. Kingdom Hearts' fandom got a little bit swampy in places a few years back. You just have to rise above the gunk and enjoy the friends you have made. I can't say I've always been such a pristine fan, but the internet and I were both young and I guess we learned together.
It's not the stupidest attempt to reboot a show. In the UK there used to be a show called Captain Pugwash. It was way before my time, but my Mum was a teen when it came out. The show got pulled very very quickly on its original airing after a lot of parents complained about its not-even-remotely subtle sexual names. In Captain Pugwash's crew were three characters, called Master Bates, Seaman Staines and Roger the Cabin Boy, who were perhaps the biggest problem for the show. Anyhow, when I was about 13-15 it was reanimated. My mum decided to watch it to see what it was like and I joined her. The show was cute and colourful and had some fun storylines. But Master Bates and Seaman Staines were not only still there, with their names unchanged, and were addressed regularly, in a peppy posh voice, by their captain! My mum couldn't believe that it had ever got past the censor while trying to ignore the stifled giggling from her teenaged daughter. I think it managed a couple of episodes before vanishing and will probably be the stupidest attempt to reboot a show in my book. PPG is a masterpiece in comparison!
Every show from our respective childhoods had its share of complaints, even my mum's childhood favourites got them. It is still hard for the show's og fans to sympathise if they feel their show has been treated poorly. It won't be the last to mess up.
Professor Utonium has never been my cup of tea in that regard. Aside from pairing him off with Ms. Keane and being Dr. Ingleberry's old flame (and ergo Mr. Ingleberry's rival), I don't really feature him that much in my work unless his presence is expected. I'm not all that keen on him being paired off with Sedusa or HIM all the time.
I think it just highlights the fact that Ace is, for all his small talk, still a teenager (19 tops). If he doesn't have any immaturity, it would make his character a lot nastier and less deserving of absolution. For me, he deserves better.
