If you don't already know, S's squad was abusive towards him before they got "killed." More on that stuff later on once I get the lore together.

K is a jerk, and that's what she's always been. She's very stubborn and mean for some reason. She spent her entire time on Copper 9 abusing S and hating him, but at the end of the day she was just secretly jealous of his hunting skills.

L however, she just mimics however K acts and will do literally anything K tells her to. She's worried that she'll get treated like S if she doesn't. That does not justify her helping abuse S though.
