I love this image for a number of reasons, the dark hazy red sunset, and most importantly the birds position, with its head turned around, like its looking behind its back.The silhoutte effect is also a big bonus, No photo manipulation at all by the way.
Edit: The name is so because the sunset looks like the cover to the movie apocalypse now, it does have that look of a nuclear explosion.

birds are among possibly the hardest subject to photograph! This Is the perfect position you've captured with the bird, and you've also managed to compose the rest of the shot perfectly! This Must have taken a lot of patience as i've tried these sort of photos and just got too frustrated! haha...So I Really Appreciate this photo and the colours of the sunset and the sillhouette are also magnificent! I Love sillhouettes as one might know by browsing my gallery...
